ACCOUNTS ON BBUS

I.  REQUEST AN ACCOUNT

Individuals that would like to request an account on BBUS should contact me via Electrinic Mail.  BBUS Admins will create an account for a user, provided that the user has been granted account acceess on the server. 

II.  USERNAME AND PASSWORD SELECTION

Individuals are asked to provide me with a requested username, and a preliminary password.  Userneme and password selection should conform to the following guidelines:

1.  Usernames CANNOT be anything that is vulgar, obscene, or otherwise considered as such. 

2.  Usernames should NOT exceed SEVEN (7) characters in length, and cannot begin with a number.

3.  Username requests are granted on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis

4.  Passwords should NOT be based on your Name, Birthdate, SSN, or any other easily identifiable information about yourself.

5.  Passwords should NOT be based on a word or phrase that is in a dictionary or thesarus.

6.  Passwords SHOULD conform to the following criteria:

The best password will consist of 8 characters (max-allowed). It should NOT be based on a word that can be found in a dictionary. It must include upper and lower case letters, a number or two, and a special character (excluding *). Avoid using your birthdate or your name. One method is to base your password on a sentence that you can easily remember. Example: "@ My password is safe 2 use !" = @Mpis2u!

Remember your password, the system encrypts it and we *cannot* retrieve it for you once it is in the data base

III.  FORGOTTEN PASSWORD?

If you have FOGOTTEN your password, we will reset it for you - These changes MUST be performed by calling me and speaking with me personally.  I will then change the password.  These requsted password changes are conducted this way to assure that they are working, and to confirm the user requested the change.  This rule will be enforced on a case-by-case basis
